More Bits n’ Bobs
Well, another week has gone by and we’ve closed out another month. It’s July 1st – Canada Day, North of the border – and I still haven’t made it to the beach. This author is not a happy camper at this moment. In the meantime. let’s have a look at what’s new.
Chapter 9 of Syrena is Finished – Renal issues and a dead PC in Charlottesville have not helped the wheels of progress one bit. Nonetheless, I added the final paragraph around 2130 yesterday and after reading it through four or five times to catch the obvious spelling and punctuation blunders, I put Chapter 9 – as well as myself – to bed.
Time to Start on Chapter 10 – This is a very important chapter in the story as there have been a lot of things building in Chapters 1 – 9 and in Chapter 10, stuff starts to hit the fan. Since there’s a lot of things going on in this chapter, I’m going to give the Scrivener authoring tool a try, at least for the development stages. I’ll probably switch over to Word for the final polishing tasks. I’ll let you know how this all goes.
The Colony Island Apparel Store is Open for Business – We’re still tinkering with the product selection but we’re good to go at this point. We’ve got about 35 items available with the Urban Mermaid logo. There are several other logos to be added as time goes by.
To kick things off, we’re offering 20% off your entire order. This, of course, does not include shipping costs and “rush” fees. This offer ends at 2359 on July 11.
We should also mention that there is absolutely zero markup on these items. We’re not making a penny on any of this. The Colony Island Apparel Store is intended for use by fans of Urban Mermaid and we’re just plain happy that someone wants to wear our logo.
If you’re looking for the famous Urban Mermaid tea mugs, you’ll have to wait a while longer. Those items were obtained via another vendor and we’ll need to set up an online shop with those folks.
Meanwhile, you can start shopping at colonyisland.qbstores.com.
That’s it for this week. Enjoy your holidaze. Meanwhile, I’m going to have a go at whistling The Maple Leaf Forever.
